AD Infinitum

Firekultur - Ramona Biciusca - AD Infinitum

If you choose to see each surface, which not coincidentally samples the multitude of variations of „black” according to space-time, human presence or absence, initiating a whole debate on the extension of the absolute through form and content, as a vehicle of memory, over which the days, hours, years are placed, you can understand the movement of the whole body in an endless relationship that acts as a connector between us and the cosmic dimension of our own existence. Each fragment, perceived as both an ancestral heritage and a projection of the future, infinitely multiplies through the three-dimensional depth the labyrinths of knowledge and feeling and, through the reflections that mirror the light on the two-dimensional surface, it offers an experience of passing through space to other levels of reality, widely opened to Infinity.
Embracing the conceptual materiality of clay, Ramona Biciușcă @ramonabiciusca and FireKultur @firekultur conceive an organic installation, in which each element, part of a system of analogies, a dialogue with the viewer, through physical, optical and affective-cultural interaction. Considering and amplifying the quality of the space, the Ad Infinitum installation must be read on several levels of meaning.
A first level is given by the technique and the collaboration of the artists with Alexandru Popescu @alexandru_mp (@pot.stories) and the architect Elena Viziteu (@elena_viziteu_). Like alchemists in their own laboratory, they shaped two tons of clay, pressing them by hand into 180 modules, preparing a unique glaze recipe, especially designed for this space.
A second level concerns the endurance and the perfection of the execution of each individual module, distributed according to an algorithm and rhythm shaped by the artists, overcoming through the modular serialism which frames the space, the structural limitations of clay and also of monumental ceramics (Ramona Biciuscă and FireKultur being among the very few Eastern European artists who innovate and redimension through accumulation and repetition the understanding of ceramics in an ambiental context).
